I am pleased to announce that I have several pairs of earrings in The Artful Corner, a wonderful boutique in the Houston Heights. I had pulled all my inventory for the holidays, but I’m very happy to be back. If you’ve never been to The Artful Corner, you’re missing a treat. It’s an amazing little shop on White Oak near Heights Boulevard, full of beautiful, fun stuff. There are a couple of events there in March; check them out!

All white cotton thread jewelry is still 25% in my shop on 1000 Markets.
At the First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights, all white cotton thread jewelry will be 25% off! Also a few select Valentiney things. Don’t miss it!

I just spent a tiny fortune on some very fine fibers. This will be for an entry for the annual exhibit by the Texas Museum of Fiber Arts. I went to the opening gala last spring and had a marvelous time!
Let’s hope it gets me some juried shows!

The place to shop online for McCord Works is here at 1000 Markets! I’m very excited by this site for artisan goods. I have been moving my jewelry and doilies-under-glass to this site for a while now, and I’ll be posting new items daily for a little while longer. And then I’ll be posting some really new stuff!

Well, four shows in five weekends was educational. No more for the rest of 2009 now. I need to take a hard look at what works and what doesn’t, and what might in the future. I’m pretty sure the category will be clothing accessories, and it will involve dyeing, silk thread and silk fabric. And still lots of tiny crochet. Because that’s the point.
Yesterday I sold my best, prettiest and most expensive earrings. That made me feel appreciated and accomplished.
If you’re going to be anywhere near Frederickburg, TX on Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, there’s lots of shopping to be done! That’s where I’ll be, at the Marketplatz, at the Texas Arts and Crafts Thanksgiving show. I’m looking seriously at putting in for the annual Arts and Crafts Fair next summer. Anyway, Fredericksburg is the place to be this Friday and Saturday!
It’s my first out-of-town full weekend show! The Games are Saturday and Sunday, and setup was today, Friday. I’m collecting more learning experiences.
- Weights are, and should be, secondary to stakes. Stakes are best for anchoring when you’re able to use them.
- I need to add a hammer/mallet to my supply box. You know, for the stakes.
- On a windy day, stakes and weights should go first, and then walls.
- Other vendors are very generous and friendly to rookies like me.
- Always confirm that you have a nonsmoking room at the motel.
It’s very nice to have plenty of time to set up. I’m hoping to take some photos tomorrow morning that I can use for a booth shot.
The weather was beautiful! I see new vendors every month. I’m starting to feel like a veteran — this was my fifth show here in the Heights.
