Don’t miss it! Besides jewelry and doilies under glass, I’ll have snowflake ornaments (we’ll pretend it’s closer to the holidays) and little treasure pouches and other oddments. A number of items are 40% off! I’ll be by the Wind Water Gallery as part of the usual First Saturday Arts Market. Can’t wait!

July is almost over, and White Linen Night in the Heights is this Saturday! I will be at the First Saturday Arts Market (the street faire), wearing my white linen and keeping cool at the Wind Water Gallery location. I’ve got some new square earrings! Photos coming in the next day or two.
I’m mulling my online options. Etsy is handy, but it’s so hard to find stuff within the site, because it’s so very huge. I simply don’t have the time to do all the community/marketing within the site that I seem to need to. I mainly use it as my online presence, and refer to it from other, outside sources.
I’ve heard good things about Artfire, and they have the distinct advantage of not requiring you to sign up for an account in order to buy. That’s very appealing to li’l anonymous me. But a full account, which would be necessary, is $12/month. I’m sure you get a lot of bang for the buck, but still…
Another I’ve heard of is 1000 Markets. But they require you to set up an account in order to buy. If I accepted that limitation, is it better to be in the higher volume Etsy, with the more recognizable name, or with the relatively unknown 1000 Markets, where I might be the big fish in a small pond? It does look interesting, though.
I only know of one other, which I’m not going to list just out of courtesy. There are people selling computer equipment on there. So much for handmade. Boo.
This is in the July 2009 issue of Envy Magazine, hot off the presses. I was here, at the TFMA Awards and Fashion Show! I met the woman who created the “spike” heel. How exciting! How glossy!
I found Tania Nova Crochet on Etsy. I think these are just beautiful. Really creative and amazing.
I have some silk thread, but I haven’t tried it yet. At my gauge, I’d have to dye white silk thread, same as the cotton. Except I’d have to get different dye, as what I have is only for vegetable fibers! Still, you can’t beat the luster and glow of silk. These are just mouthwatering.

I’m clearing out some styles to make room for new ones! If you’ve had your eye on some of my doily jewelry, this is your chance to pick it up for cheap!
