Polka dot car

A little something different today. I recently redotted my car. I first applied the polka dots in 2004: light blue, dark blue, lime green and silver. But the silver ones went bad earlier this year, oxidizing and shriveling. So I decided it was time to spiff up my beloved 1995 Honda Civic with some new dots. All the same colors, except I replaced the troublesome silver dots with teal. See more photos on the Flickr page.

I’ve got a couple of events coming up. On Saturday, August 2, I’ll be at Oolala for White Linen Night in the Heights. The event runs from 4 pm to 10 pm, and Oolala will have a trolley stop. Come on out! I will have white earrings and pendants and a couple of the elusive doily shadowboxes. And perhaps a couple of dyed items, too, but the theme is white, white, white.

Later in the month, August 21-23, I will have all hand-dyed jewelry at Weaving and Beyond: Contemporary Handweavers of Houston Annual Sale at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. I’m really looking forward to this. I have just dyed, crocheted and blocked a veritable rainbow of future jewelry! Now, on to assembly with all the lovely sterling silver.

Craft is pretty cool. I don’t subscribe at present, but I might need to.

New website! Not really.

I finally obtained www.mccordworks.com and redirected it to my www.leisamccord.com/fiberart page. So there’s nothing actually new; it’s just another small step on my path to world domination. Mwa ha ha haaaa!
