My buddy John turned me onto this page, The Home of Mathematical Knitting. He wants me to teach him how to knit, so he can start making Moebius strips and other goodies. Very cool page for crafty geeks, or geeky crafters.
Finally, I’ve been able to get these suckers framed. They look really cool. They’re sandwiched between two pieces of glass (with UV protection) in a deep shadowbox frame. I haven’t photographed them yet, so there’s not much to show. But here’s a scan of one of them. The actual diameter of this little beauty is 2.5″.

I love and hate getting new yarn catalogs in the mail. I can’t help but wish I had unlimited time and money to spend on all the luscious goodies. Ooh, a merino and tencel blend! I can see how that silk yarn glows on paper, never mind how it must look in person. I want to lick the pages. But no, I’m working on one sweater now, and I have the yarn for the next one, and it’s a wine-colored ribbon yarn. Both projects should turn out well. I really do try not to get too far ahead with the stash. But if it’s on sale…
Oh, man, I need to post about my OCD stash catalog. I’m sick, really. It’s extremely organized, though low-tech. I suppose I could put it in a database.
Sorry about the recent lack of posts. Here’s what’s been going on:
I replaced the earring hardware and reshot all the earrings. Better photos! Relatively speaking. I learned a lot about various settings on my camera, but I think I missed a little on setting a custom white point. I’ll try it again soon, but these current photos are a big improvement over the previous ones. And then I repopulated McCord Works with all the new photos.
I’ve ordered glass for framing the doilies. When it comes in, I’ll have lots of reframing to do, but it’ll be worth it. They’re going to look fabulous, and then I’ll have to figure out how to photograph them.
I’m starting to do the hard work of actually contacting human beings about carrying the jewelry. Gah!
I’m seriously considering moving the blog, barely begun as it is, over to WordPress. Pro: more control and customization. Con: it’s a whole new set of technology that I have to learn. This will probably happen, but I’m not sure about the timing.
